An Old Irish Blessing

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields...
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you, in the hollow of His hand.

God's sweet creation of Ireland & shamrocks are the inspiration for today's card.

The stamp is by Stampworks (Peddler's Pack) called Shamrock Background.

I started off by selecting Emerald Metallic (shimmer) Cardstock from Envelopes.com

Then I cut this out with SpellBinders Grand Calibur Rectangles from AJ's Scrapbooking. I also used a white Bazzill Cardstock.  It is the textured cardstock framing the shamrocks.

I used Art Glitter's Designer Dries Clear Adhesive with the UltraFine Metal Tip to glue the paper, glitter and embellies:)

Prior to glittering everything I used Copic Markers.

Sketch Markers I used.

Copic Ciao markers used.

Another shiny picture I thought this showed the shimmer of the metallic paper and the ribbon well.

This is how I cut the slots for the ribbon.

Another picture of the finished project.
I used Metallic Folk Art Paint in Metallic paint over the White Bazzill cardstock for the frame surrounding the shamrocks and I also used the paint on the gold part of the trim.

I love how this picture showcases the lovely Art Glitter. Take a look at the far right of the picture do you see two shamrock leaves not glittered? It is the second shamrock down. I wanted you to see the copic colors prior to glittering.  Now the opaque glitter will cover up the color of your copic coloring, but look at the transparent glitter and especially the shamrock on the bottom right hand corner and you can see how the copic colors come through. I posted the colors I used and links to buy in the pictures below.

The trim before I used it on the card.

Art Glitter Ultrafine Opaque in Emerald. I used this glitter on the outline of the Card Frame and on the shamrock leaves.

Art Glitter Ultrafine Transparent in Angel Dust. I used this glitter on the shamrock flowers. The last picture shows how the transparent glitter allows the Copic shading and color to shine through. Take a good look at the flowers.

I love glitter.  Be sure to check out a video on you tube by Art Glitter's creator, Barbara Trombley, for an awesome technique in Rainbow Glittering. I've added the link below.
